I am now in Kyrgyzstan.
The trip here was a struggle the whole way. The bags got improperly checked in Dulles, our massive group caused an hour long delay in Frankfurt, there was a four hour delay in Istanbul, and when we finally landed in Bishkek about 50 bags, including one of mine, were no where to be found (turns out they’re in Frankfurt). In all, by the time we landed at 5:30 AM local time in Bishkek we had been travelling for about 36 hours.
Our route from one side of the planet to the other.
We got only a glimpse of the city on our way to the hotel where we will be put up for the next couple of days for orientation, but I can say it is a really interesting city unlike any American or European city I’ve been in.
